Membership
We welcome new applications for membership whether you are a beginner or a single figure golfer.
We have a number of membership categories which are listed below. Ulverston Golf Club (UGC) is a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC). Our membership year runs from 1 January to 31 December and applications are welcome at any time of year.
There is a joining fee for all playing members 18 years old and over from 1st June 2024. This is £300 and includes £100 credit to spend on food and beverages before 31 December 2024.
All adult playing membership fees include affiliation with England Golf and the County Golf Association which allows access to the World Handicap System plus UK Public Liability Golf Insurance. Full voting rights on UGC matters also apply.
Members receive many benefits including:
Opportunity to play golf 7 days a week and enter all Club Competitions
Permitted playing days are Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Club Competition entry is limited to those taking place on playing days

Entry to this category is restricted to members who are eligible to apply under CASC guidelines. The Club is open to the whole community including those on modest or low incomes. Any member or prospective member whose financial circumstances do not allow them to pay an annual membership subscription and associated costs of more than £520 is invited to apply to the club Manager and demonstrate that any sum above this figure is not affordable to them. The application will then be considered and if accepted an alternative fee structure will be offered to the applicant. All information submitted is subject to General Data Protection Regulations.
Home address must be at least 40 miles from the club and applicant must be a member of another club.
7 day membership for young adults aged from 18 to 22.
7 day membership for young adults aged from 23 to 25.
Available to students in full time education aged 18 to 25. Proof of college or university course is required.
Use of the driving range plus social membership.
Social membership gives non-golfing membership of the club including member discount on food and drink.

Ulverston Golf Club has achieved the SafeGolf standard and is committed to promoting a safe and positive environment for all those participating, working and volunteering in the sport of golf
Our Junior Section has a dedicated organiser who oversees the golfing development of our junior members and runs competitions for them in the school holidays.
Alyn Cousins UGC Professional leads the coaching sessions with help from a member support group. Alyn puts in a great deal of effort to make the lessons dynamic and fun. These lessons are provided free of charge by the club. Juniors also benefit from free driving range balls.
There is a great camaraderie amongst the juniors at Ulverston and new juniors will feel at home in no time at all. Junior membership starts from the age of 5.
No charge for weekly coaching for UGC Junior members.
